Excitement was in the air as South Salem students, staff and parents began the school year in a new 88,000sf building. It is the City’s first completely new facility since the school division was formed in 1983. Resources for the project included over 70 contractors and 23,000 man hours to over come the project’s 14-month deadline that included a very wet spring and summer. “We gave them an impossible task and they did it anyway, which speaks highly of them,” stated Mike Bryant, Salem’s Asst. Superintendent.
