Botetourt County decided to build it’s first new school in 30 years. Colonial Elementary School is an 82,561 square foot building that sets on a 26-acre site. It was designed to house the counties growing population with more classrooms and a full-size gym. After Value engineering this project, it utilized a guaranteed maximum price contract. The school welcomed it’s first students on January 25, 2021.
New Project Launches
On February 24, 2021 G&H Contracting, Inc. was proud to hand over Fire Station 7 to the City of Roanoke for their official ribbon cutting! This has been a very exciting project. It was the new construction of a two-story building. During construction we helped incorporate aspects from the previous 90-year-old station. In the foyer entrance of the building, concrete squares from the demolished station were placed in the brick wall to pay homage. In the lounge area the front of a retired fire truck was used to frame the TV. These are just a couple of the special touches involved with the project.
